Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) – Illegal Logging Prohibition Regulation 2012

Australia’s illegal logging requirements for imports, governed by the Illegal Logging Prohibition Act 2012 and the Illegal Logging Prohibition Regulation 2012, require importers to conduct due diligence to assess and mitigate the risk of importing timber, timber products, pulp and paper products into Australia that have been illegally logged.

It is important that importers of such goods understand your obligations and responsibilities. Non-compliance can result in heavy penalties and fines. Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) have provided further detail on their website to aid and assist importers in meeting these requirements.
