DP World / MUA dispute escalation

The industrial dispute between DP World and the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) continues to escalate with there being a complete stop in Sydney and a half day stop in Melbourne for the 12th January.

Both sides appear to have dug in their heels and there still appears no end in sight for this dispute.

Our expectation is the dispute will continue to escalate and more stoppages will be incurred.

The knock on effect of this is that vessels are being delayed around Australia which is also causing major delays overseas as shipping schedules, vessel routing and predictability of shipping is all thrown into chaos.
