Free Trade Agreements – reducing your import duties
Australia has negotiated and implemented several free trade agreements over many years. These agreements, amongst other matters, provide importers with the opportunity to reduce applicable import duties to goods imported from these countries.
Importantly each agreement has different requirements based on the negotiations, therefore it is important that when deciding which agreement to use in reducing your import duties, that its determined which one is most beneficial for your goods and compliance requirements.
Our government is also in the midst of negotiations with a number of other countries and groups like India, UK and the EU to further reduce import duties from these countries and or regions. If you have any queries on a free trade agreement, please advise.
