VoxGroup Newsletter update – 5th June 2020
APL England
The APL England is still being unloaded and surveyed in Brisbane with no new data as to when the containers will be either transhipped onto another ship or continue their journey on this vessel.
The knock-on effect is that one birth in Brisbane is currently taken up with the vessel so there could be delays throughout the different shipping schedules.
If you have any concerns in relation to the timing of your arrivals as we head towards the end of the financial year, please contact us and we can plan accordingly.
Emissions from Machinery
Australia has had legislation in relation to emissions testing on machinery and equipment which produce emissions.
If you currently import equipment that produce emissions, or are looking to do this please speak to us first as the requirements are substantial, and should you just import the equipment the goods may be considered a prohibited import.
Goods like domestic lawnmowers, edgers and other small items are included in this legislation so do not assume your goods will not be required to be checked.
BMSB Season is now done
Brown Mamorated Stink Bug (BMSB) season is all but finished with the final date of 31st May for goods arriving in Australia having expired. There may be one or two ships still completing their routing within our borders.
We now wait for the detail from the department on next year’s requirements, countries and products that will be covered by these requirements.
It is expected that goods leaving Europe, the USA, Canada, and some Asian countries will have these requirements again imposed from September 01st and therefore as you forward plan your supply chain please keep this in mind.
Be safe, have a good day and if you have any queries on the above information please give us a call.
