Australian Terminals

We are starting to see a continuance of the campaign between the MUA and Patricks across Australian ports. Just as the delays were starting to reduce the campaign by the unions has ramped up and there is now rolling stoppages, bans and work to rule impediments being implemented.
At this time, we have not had any substantial delays with these regards to this campaign however if the campaign we will keep our clients on the work arounds we put in place.

There has also been a number of COVID 19 cases identified at VICT in Melbourne and this has caused the closure of the terminal for a number of days this week.
We are working with our transport partners to alleviate any delays however we will keep you up to date if this changes

Golden Week in Asia

Golden week is from the 01st October to the 07th of October in China and a number of other Asian nations. China and surrounding countries are closed for the week or parts thereof. We wish all our partners, suppliers and clients a happy and content Golden Week and hope they can enjoy the time away and stay safe.

During this period it is difficult to obtain documents either from suppliers and our partners and we therefore ask that our clients think ahead and make sure all s on hand to avoid any unnecessary delays.

We will be in contact over the next week in the event Golden Week shutdown will affect your shipments.

Freight rates and Space

Whilst we try not to include this in every newsletter, freight rates continue to rise whilst space and equipment continues to contract.
We are well into peak season and the issues with rates and space continues. We are negotiating to minimise the increases however with the shipping lines controlling both of these factors the increases are continuing.

There has been Peak Season Surcharges implemented by certain shipping lines as well as Port Congestion Surcharges in ports like Long Beach USA and Auckland NZ.

We hope all our clients and partners are safe and well in these trying times and should you need to reach out to us please do not hesitate to call.
Take care and stay safe.

Please stay in contact with our staff and we will assist in guiding you through these interesting times.

Take care and stay safe.
