Delays with seafreight

There have been two major events which have caused delays in with seafreight shipments this week.

Locally the weather event on the east coast of Australia has caused delays in servicing vessels at the terminals as well as delays in the vessels docking. The knock on effect of this is vessel are slowing down heading to Australia and the delays are being felt across the country.

Whilst the weather has now moved on the delays in arrivals will have a knock on effect into next week and the Easter break. If you are concerned on the arrival time and delivery of your freight please keep in contact with our staff and our transport partners have solutions to assist over the Easter break.

In another part of the world the Suez Canal has been blocked by a vessel called the Ever Given. This vessel is approximately 400metres long and due to weather events in Egypt the vessel has turned sideways and blocked the canal. Reports outline the vessel could be there for a number of days and the delays to hundreds of other vessels will be significant. We will keep all our clients updated as the events continue to unfold on this issue.

We want to take the opportunity to wish all our clients and partners a safe and happy Easter and we look forward to continuing to assist you through 2021 and beyond.
Take care and stay safe.
