Industrial Action – DP World

Industry has been advised that there is more industrial action planned for DP World terminals around the country.

This action includes strikes, stop work, bans on work practices and continued disruption to industry.

The extension of this is that certain vessels have changed rotation through the East Coast and therefore arrival dates can vary drastically.

If your shipment is effected we will alert you directly.

Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) delays

DAFF delays are continuing with no quick fix available for shipments requiring DAFF clearance. We are continuing to clear goods as early as possible to avoid any delays once the shipments become available.

Should you be importing goods subject to DAFF lodgement (food, wooden Items, permittable goods) we recommend providing documents to Vox at least 7 days prior to arrival.

Increase to Terminal Access Charges

DP World, in all states, and VICT in Melbourne have both advised the terminal access charges will be increasing from the 01st January 2024.

The increase in charges is substantial with the export infrastructure charge increasing by more than 50% whereas import charges are increasing form between 20-25% depending on the state.

Timeslot fees are also being increase however the quantum of the increase is yet to be finalised and we will advise our clients once known.

Should you have any queries in relation to these matters please speak to Mike or Brett.
