Industrial Action

We have been advised there will be industrial action on the 16th February at VICT in Melbourne from 4-8pm. This will have an effect on slots and pick ups during this time. Our staff will work around these delays to minimise the impact on our clients.

Rates and Space – Seafreight

As is usually the case we have started to see rates plateau in relation to imports into Australia. We are also expecting the space issues that have plagued the industry for the past 6 months to ease towards the end of March which should also see the rates soften a little.
Having said this there is still equipment shortages around the world and any specialised equipment is difficult to come by and certain ports have shortages of containers like 40’HC.
Please continue to book early to make sure we take advantage of space and rates and provide the optimum service available.

Airfreight

Unfortunately, due to COVID, airfreight space is still at a premium. With the government amending flight arrivals and implementing stricter protocols we are finding the situation with airfreight very dynamic.
The rates are still high and with limited arrivals there is added pressure on the airfreight market. We do not foresee the pressure lifting until passenger flights can again start arriving regularly therefore if you have urgent freight and need it airfreighted please liaise with our staff to make sure we can organise accordingly.
We will continue to keep our clients updated as to market movements and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us
Take care and stay safe.
