Oceanfreight
Backlogs are starting to clear throughout the ports, but we continue to see delays with carrier arrivals due to shipping lines either omitting Sydney or changes to port rotation.
Shipping lines continue to charge ‘Sydney Congestion Surcharge’ ranging from USD285-350/TEU, based on the continued disruption within the ports, despite the ceasefire between the union and stevedores. All stevedores are now back to full operations, so we will continue to monitor this fee and will advise once removed.
Along with local delays we continue to see space be at a premium especially from China, South East Asia and India. Rates are still to be released for November but we would suggest that you take bookings where available, as space is extremely tight. Most carriers are completely full for October and space is now only available for November.
Airfreight
In some area’s we are seeing freight rates reduced after Golden Week, but they are still much higher than we have seen in the past. If you do need to organise airfreight, please advise and we can look at all options to provide you with the most competitive cost and transit time.
Have a good day and should you need to discuss any of these matters or other of concern please do not hesitate to contact us.
