Delays at Australian Ports
There has been an increase in delays at Australian ports, leading to critical changes by shipping lines. These include:
- Vessel Rotation Changes: Some vessels are altering their rotation, causing up to a week’s delay in port arrival.
- Partial Unloading: In some cases, not all scheduled containers are being unloaded at the primary port, resulting in containers being offloaded at a secondary port and then transhipped back.
These changes are often communicated late, causing significant disruption. VoxGroup will keep you informed if these situations impact your shipments directly.
Rising Freight Rates and Limited Space
The industry is experiencing significant increases in freight rates and a reduction in available space from all ports.
To ensure timely movement of your freight, we urge you to plan ahead and provide shipment/booking requirements as early as possible.
Rates are being adjusted fortnightly due to the ongoing supply and demand imbalance.
